From Santo Domingo Airport to Bahia Principe Grand El Portillo Resort

(The most popular way to arrive at this resort)
Most people arrive at the Santo Domingo Airport (SDQ) and go from Santo Domingo to Bahia Principe Grand El Portillo. This transfer has you going through the countryside of the Dominican Republic on one of the nicest/newest roads in the country where you will see things such as rice and coconut farms along the way.

Once in the Dominican Republic there are three ways to get from the Santo Domingo Airport to Bahia Principe Grand El Portillo.

Private Transfer – The #1 way to arrive at Bahia Principe Grand El Portillo is from the Santo Domingo Airport. Your driver will be waiting for you once you clear customs and then will have you on your way to your resort. Price Quote

Public Bus – With tickets at $10 USD visitors are often mislead about the savings this option presents. Since the bus doesn’t pick up at the Santo Domingo Airport you will have to pay for a taxi to the bus station in Santo Domingo and then another taxi from the bus station in Las Terrenes to your resort. In reality the savings is only a little and the hassle and travel time are greatly increased in comparison to a private transfer.

Shared Shuttle – We advise this transfer if you are traveling alone and want to try and save a few dollars in transportation costs. For 2 persons the cost is about the same as a private transfer and for 3 or more it is more expensive.

Note: Shared shuttles can typically wait at the airport for up to 2 hours for the shuttle to fill up and the shuttles make multiple stops at various resorts and hotels. But you can always opt for Santo Domingo Taxi Service from Santo Domingo Airport to Bahia Principe Grand El Portillo. We are here for you.
